Review: The Stark Trilogy by J. Kenner

15799166He was the one man I couldn’t avoid. And the one man I couldn’t resist.

Damien Stark could have his way with any woman. He was sexy, confident, and commanding: Anything he wanted, he got. And what he wanted was me.

Our attraction was unmistakable, almost beyond control, but as much as I ached to be his, I feared the pressures of his demands. Submitting to Damien meant I had to bare the darkest truth about my past—and risk breaking us apart.

But Damien was haunted, too. And as our passion came to obsess us both, his secrets threatened to destroy him—and us—forever.

Release Me is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.

I’m not going to do a full blown review on all 3 books, because that would of course spoil you for the last two books. but I will give my opinion of them!

If you are comparing these books to 50 Shades of Grey, just stop now. While I did enjoy the 50 trilogy, this trilogy is NOTHING at all like it, besides for the fact that this book has HOT scenes and both men are billionaires. To me those are the only similarities.

The Stark Trilogy is very well written, the plot is very interesting, and the characters keep you wanting more.

Nikki (Nicole) Fairchild is a very smart, intelligent, tenacious, and beautiful character. She is not meek and she is not awkward. Nikki does have skeletons in her closet, but don’t we all? Nikki was raised a pageant daughter in Texas and as soon as she was able to do so, she escaped her mother and moved to Los Angeles with Her best friend. Nikki wears a lot of scars from her past.

Damien Stark is a sensual and loving character. Yes, he is a very successful business man, who also has very chilling skeletons in his closet, but from the start, he wants Nikki, and he lets her know it. He is the total opposite from Christian Grey, besides that they both like to have control and they both make LOTS of money! Damien is an ex-tennis star turned business mogul. He didn’t have the best child hood, and its not something he wants or is willing to talk much about.

Nikki also has a very Awesome and loving BFF named Jamie, who I absolutely adore, and I have my fingers crossed that she will at some point get her own Story. Please, let Jamie have a story! Jamie reminds me a lot of my own best friend, besides for her promiscuity.
There isn’t a character in this book that I don’t absolutely adore. I love Evelyn whom you meet in the first chapter, her boyfriend Blaine is awesome, all of Damien’s employees are very likable. The book is just so damn likable!

If you are hesitant to start these books, don’t be. They really are great, quick, fun reads. There is a lot of sexy times in these books, but there is a very good story that doesn’t get bogged down by all the sex.
My ratings:

Release Me: 5 Stars
Claim Me: 5 Stars
Complete Me: 4 1/2 Stars

The reason Complete Me only got 4 1/2 stars is the first 75 pages of the book was slow for me, and it felt a little repetitive, but after that the story really picked up for me!

  1. Awesome review! I wasn’t sure I wanted to finish this series, but you have me intrigued! I did love the first book, although I don’t remember any details. Glad you enjoyed these!
